Wallace Ranch Graft Hybrid Dragon Fruit — Fully Rooted Plant

The Wallace Ranch Graft Hybrid is one of the most unique dragon fruit varieties from Wallace Ranch. It was created around 2016 using Sugar Dragon and Vietnamese White, resulting in a rare hybrid with traits from both varieties.

This plant produces fruit with a standout ripening process. The skin can shift from yellow to orange, then pink, and finally red as it matures. The fruit has dark magenta flesh with a medium-firm texture and a very sweet flavor. Wallace Ranch has recorded consistently high Brix readings, usually around 19–22, making this one of the sweeter varieties available. Fruit size averages close to 1 pound, giving it more size than Sugar Dragon while still keeping some of Sugar Dragon’s color and flavor influence.

The plant is believed to be not self-fertile and is not self-pollinating, so cross-pollination is recommended. It has set fruit well with pollen from varieties such as American Beauty, Physical Graffiti, Robles Red, and other Thompson-type varieties. A mature plant may produce multiple fruit sets per season, with blooms typically starting around June and continuing into September.

Growth can vary depending on the environment. In cooler weather, new growth may show a temporary spotty or two-toned appearance. This is normal for this variety and usually fills out as the plant matures. In greenhouse or warm, dry conditions, the plant may also produce plenty of aerial roots and develop a natural coating on the branches. It performs best with consistent care and a steady weekly watering routine.

This listing is for a fully rooted plant, not a fresh cutting. A rooted plant gives you a stronger start and helps reduce the waiting time compared to rooting a cutting yourself.

Pollination note: This variety should be planted with or near another compatible dragon fruit variety for best fruit production.
