Dark Star is a Paul Thomson hybrid (Rixford × Niezel) and a premium standard for decades. Its deep magenta, antioxidant-rich flesh has a sweet berry-and-grape flavor with a hint of lychee, averaging about 19 Brix, and well-pollinated fruit can reach 1 to 1.5 lb.
This listing is for a fresh 15–17 inch cutting. Dark Star is self-sterile, so grow it with a compatible pollinator such as Sugar Dragon or Robles Red, or hand-pollinate, for larger, more reliable fruit.
