- 2 × 24-inch 2x4 redwood pieces
- 4 × 21-inch 2x4 redwood pieces
- 1 × 4-foot 4x4 redwood post
- 1 × concrete anchor block
- 3-inch deck screws

- 3/32-inch drill bit for pilot holes
- Post protector (Amazon)

Step-by-Step Assembly

Cut your wood
Cut all lumber to size and double-check each piece before assembly.

Build the top crown
Assemble the top frame using the 24-inch and 21-inch 2x4 pieces. Keep everything square and use pilot holes before driving screws to help prevent splitting.

Prep the 4x4 post
Inspect the post, square the ends if needed, and add post protection to the base if you are using it.

Attach the crown to the post
Center the top crown on the 4x4 post and fasten it securely. Check alignment before fully tightening all screws.

Anchor the post
Set the post into the concrete anchor block and make sure it is stable and upright.

Add optional bracing
Install corner bracing or angle brackets if you want extra support and less crown movement over time.

Final check
Make sure the trellis is level, secure, and ready to support a plant as it grows upward and over the top.

Plant and train
Plant your dragon fruit, guide 1 to 2 main branches upward, and remove lower growth as needed to keep the structure clean and productive.
